Trivia

Nofeya is an eclectic and self-taught world music artist whose journey has been shaped by her multicultural roots and lifelong passion for music. Immersed in melodies since childhood, she grew up surrounded by her father’s vinyl records, which sparked her love for singing and performance. Her father—singer and guitarist of the band Les Petits Princes—introduced her to traditional Senegalese music and legendary voices like Youssou N'Dour, Papa Wemba, Koffi Olomidé, Elvis Presley, Percy Sledge, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Barry White, Ray Charles, James Brown, and Joe Cocker.

As a teenager, Nofeya embraced rap, zouk, and pop, blending them into her own unique sound. Today, her music is often described as a fusion of Afrobeat, R&B, Caribbean zouk, and world music, reflecting both her Senegalese and Guadeloupean heritage. Beyond the rhythms, her songs carry a message of love, faith, tolerance, spirituality, and humanism.

In 2021, she released her breakout single “Baby Doudou”, a vibrant tribute to Guadeloupe, blending Creole and Wolof while celebrating her island roots. In 2024, her hit single “Senegal” fused kizomba with mbalax, gaining over 50,000 views and paying homage to her father’s homeland through danceable rhythms and heartfelt storytelling.

By 2025, Nofeya’s artistry deepened with “Jah”, a track reflecting her spirituality, inner journey, and gratitude. That same year, in August, she unveiled her highly anticipated debut album “Combat d’Honneur”, a rich blend of Afrobeat, R&B, and Caribbean zouk. The album highlights her multicultural DNA and positions Nofeya as a rising force in global music.

With each release, Nofeya continues to celebrate her roots in Senegal and Guadeloupe while reaching international audiences. Her music is more than just sound—it’s a voyage across cultures, emotions, and identities, making her one of today’s most exciting voices in world music.

When I went to shoot my video clip in Senegal, I was only gone for 10 days, so I had very little time...I told Zik Da Boss that we would never have time to record in the studio. He replied that yes, that he really wanted us to be able to record while I was there, because after, who knows when I will return to Senegal...I said ok...Arriving at the studio, I was welcomed with one of the best Senegalese dishes that exists...tieb! And I think that the culinary magic had its effect, because finally, in one evening we were able to record! And the title, nothing to say, we love it! For us it resonates like a hymn to freedom....
